Amanda Brugel

Pointe Claire resides in a uninhabited area of Montreal Island, which is known as West Island. Many people who don't know about the place mistakenly think that it is the West Island extends westward from Montreal. It is actually it is the West Island includes everything westward of the city of Lachine. Amanda Brugel is said to be born on the West Island. But it's not the case. Brugel was raised in Courtice, just outside of Oshawa. She initially wanted to pursue a career as an actress but after a sudden expansion, she and her partner could no longer dance with her. In an interview with Toronto Star, she confessed that "In heels I am 6 feet and 1 inch." When I grew out of my male counterparts, I gave up. Numerous former dancers choose to become actors. In Brugel's case, it was the encouragement by her drama instructor at her high school which pushed her to the path she needed. She was encouraged to take part in an audition in her school's production. After a few auditions her options, she was eventually the leading lady of Anne of Green Gables. A Fine Arts Talent Scholarship led her to York University, where she completed her studies in Theatre and graduated with a Bachelors of Fine Arts in 2000. Over the last 20 years, her work has been seen on both the small and large screen. Her work gained most recognition when she landed her role as Rita in the acclaimed television series The Handmaid's Tale. Brugel is the only Canadian actress in Season 1 which was viewed only occasionally.
